SDL Trados Studio 2011

MyMemory add-in: MyMemory is a free tool provided by Translated.net. It is the world's largest Translation Memory. MyMemory is 100% free. This free add-in provides translators easy access to TM's. These TM's had been created collecting TMs from the European Union, United Nations and aligning the best domain specific multilingual websites.

SDL Passolo

SDL Passolo is a powerful software localization tool, where translators can translate texts in context. It has powerful possibilities to customize the tool to your processes.

Solutions:

Proprietary formats: Software localization tools can not visualize all possible formats out-of-the box. Fortunately, it is possible to develop solution to visualize proprietary formats, for example from older legacy systems. We implemented various solutions for our customers.
Embedded devices: A solution to synchronize between SDL Passolo (where the editing is done) and a target simulator. The simulator uses the translations. The customer had to extend his target application with minor effort to provide the translators 100% context.
Build-process: Use automation to make SDL Passolo part of the build process and do automatic QA.
New features: Extend Passolo with custom functionality, for example by using macros or add-ins.

SDL TagEditor

SDL TagEditor is a bilingual translation editor. It provides powerful features that support you to translate documents in an efficient manner. The tool can be customized to your needs via add-ins and automation.

Solutions:

QA checker: The client in the medical domain needed a QA solution to analyse their TTX-files during translation in SDL TagEditor. The third party QA-tools were not able to detect domain specific-patterns, not could be configured to do so. Internally, another business unit had developed an in-house QA-tool that performed functionally well, but did not fit in the workflow. The new QA solution integrated seamlessly in the workflow and consists of a verification add-in for TagEditor and a slight extension of the client's existing QA-tool. That add-in sends the document to be analyzed to the QA-tool, interprets the response and displays the results in SDL TagEditor.
Batch test: A batch-tool analyzes a large set of TTX-files. This is useful when the project manager wants to execute a QA-analysis for all translated documents in a project (all languages).
Regression test suite: The client is able to extend the rule-base for QA-ing the TTX-files. Each new rule set needs to be validated. A regression test suite compares the outcome of the old vs the new rules and reports them in an HTML-report.

Customized solutions

Besides customizations, we developed customized solutions for our customers:

SVG-tool: In-context translation of texts in Scalable Vector Graphics (SVG's).
CMS modular files: Translate a large set of small modular files from the Vasont Content Management System (CMS). The tool provides one large document, so that the translator has the full context. When ready, the tool generates the small translated modular files, to be imported in the CMS.
en-SW: Replace "en-SW" (English as written by software engineers) in .Net resx-files with correct English in .Net satellite assemblies. This guarantees that end-users will only see authored English terms when the system fails to lookup the correct translation.
TM cleanup: Tool to maintain and clean-up Translation Memories.
